Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. We are seeking a motivated, thoughtful, and compelling West Market Lead to join our leading investment platform to build, grow, and manage a thriving business channel and transaction platform for projects throughout the West, from Texas to Colorado, New Mexico, and California.
The West Market Lead will play a critical role in MEI’s Business & Market Development team and will be responsible for leading business development, partnerships, and policy across the Western region and states, including Texas, Colorado, Nevada, California, and the Pacific Northwest. The Market Lead is expected to cultivate relationships with customers and development partners and help build MEI's "clean energy ecosystem" through the deployment of infrastructure and services. The position will collaborate and work closely with colleagues across market development, marketing, legal, and commercial analysis to generate proposals, advance negotiations, and nurture projects from origination through diligence, development, and beyond.
The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter drawn to the intersection of business development, policy, and community engagement. The candidate should have a proven record of clean energy sales leadership and success in the energy sector, exceptional communication skills, strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and generally be comfortable in an entrepreneurial setting.
Requirements
What You’ll Be Doing:
-Identifying emerging and mature market opportunities to deliver clean energy solutions directly to our growing network of developer and EPC partners
-Cultivating relationships with new partners and originating clean energy projects for acquisition, including onsite and offsite solar and energy storage
-Serving as MEI’s on-the-ground leader and ambassador for the US West—attending conferences, speaking on panels, and generally representing the company across the region and at local engagements
-Collaborating with colleagues to generate and present proposals and project pricing directly to our partners
-Negotiating commercial terms to secure exclusivity and drive towards diligence, development, and construction
-Working closely with our marketing operation to generate and launch creative content and branded initiatives geared toward our partners
-Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
