You will help drive technical excellence and growth in the California energy efficiency and demand side management market.You will help drive business development activities such as monitoring business opportunities, leading proposal efforts, developing industry white papers and conference presentations, and fostering relationships with clients, potential clients, and partner organizations. You will be fostering innovation within the practice area, leading projects and providing project oversight to multi-dimensional teams. You will be engaging with diverse, interdisciplinary groups of internal and external stakeholders such as utility clients, regulators, intervenors, and program administrators.

Responsibilities
Successfully lead projects in energy market characterization, market transformation, and program evaluation with a focus on market support and equity programs, emerging program types in California, and metrics and indicators for new program types
Help drive annual revenue, sales, and hit utilization targets
Provide technical leadership or oversight on complex projects
Manage projects, monitor progress against milestones and budgets
Ensure high quality deliverables with robust findings and actionable recommendations
Expand business in California and beyond
Guide, mentor, and develop staff
Support staff with workload planning
Requirements
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, planning, environmental science, business, or a related subject
10 to 12 years of work experience in energy efficiency or the utility industry, including at least 4 years of consulting experience
Industry experience working in the energy sector, preferably in the areas of energy efficiency, demand response, market research, market support and equity programs, solar PV and other distributed energy resources, battery storage, decarbonization, building electrification, electric vehicles, and combined heat and power resources
Deep understanding of the California energy efficiency and demand side management markets and regulatory processes including evaluation requirements
Proven experience coming up to speed on new topics quickly
Excellent written and communication skills, with experience presenting to clients
Excellent project management skills, including leading technical project teams, interacting with clients and stakeholders, budget management, preparing written reports and presenting project results, and mentoring staff
Ability to facilitate and organize multiple projects and project teams
Expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other presentation tools
Preferred:
Masters degree or MBA
Experience developing strategic plans and roadmaps, conducting cost-benefit analyses, designing programs, or evaluating programs
Experience working in the utility sector
Staff management and development experience
Business development (including proposal management and response) experience

The minimum starting salary for this position is $125,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
